Miss China 2004 [from Kepong?]
Take a second look at the lass in the centre. She is Ms Li Shiqi who hails from Kepong, Malaysia. What many are wondering is how come she is Miss China [this is what XinHua says she is.] The STAR [see the front page today] says she is 'Miss Chinese Universe 2004' and is 19 years old model from Kepong. Apart from winning the title, she also won the Miss Photogenic and Miss Talent titles too. Whatever her title is called, keep a watch on this Kepong lass as she is bound to go places. The annual pageant was said to have been telecast live to a world wide audience, i must have been sleeping.

I think XinHua is wrong. The contest was Miss Chinese Universe, vied by Chinese girls from different countries around the world. If I am not mistaken (although I am prepared to stand corrected), the first Malaysian winner of that title was Rachel Tan, a very pretty lass who now appears in several Malaysian tv advertisments, including SenQ.
Ms Chinese Universe & Ms Chinese International are both different titles.
Rachel Tan won Ms CI, not Ms CU.
the show was televised here in new zealand live! :D Go Malaysia.
Thanks, Oliviasy, you are right. Rachel won Miss Chinese International. So now we have Miss Chinese International, Miss Chinese Universe, and ... when is Miss Chinese World?
Very Pretty,
Who is the one on the left? with what appears to be bruises on her arm "if so how did she receive them.
The one on the left is the runner up, a Beijinger, by the name of Yang Jie. You can see more of them, by clicking here, here and here and here.
As for the bruise-like marks, ?artifacts or someone has just given her arm a mighty squeeze?
Now the STAR says that the title is "Miss Chinese Cosmo 2004". The winner Ms Lee Sze Kei aka Li Shiqi from Kepong is brushingg up her Mandarin.
Another Chinese Malaysian lass has made it to another beauty title. This time it is Ms Jolene Chin. She was recently crowned "Miss Astro Chinese International". Malaysia Boleh!
