The New McDonald Image?



Is this going to be the new McDonald image. The golden arches of McDonald's are among the three most recognisable images across the globe. From the third world through to the developed west, only Coca-Cola and the crucifix are better known.
For reasons better known to Ronald McDonald, the golden arches are to be ditched soon. Leo Burnett, the Chicago-based advertising agency which thought up the rebranding campaign is said to have opted for the golden arches to be replaced with a golden question mark ::

Spotted this altered signage in Gurney Drive. Looks like the skateboarders in Penang have a message to make to Tan Sri Koh :: Skateboarding is not a Crime, the signage says.

Taiping War Cemetry




TAIPING, Sept 29 (Bernama) -- Visiting New Zealand Governor-General Silvia Cartwright Wednesday visited the graves of Commonwealth soldiers who died during the Japanese campaign in Malaya, at the Taiping War Cemetery.

She was accompanied by her husband, Peter Cartwright.

Situated at the Waterfall Road within the Taiping Lake Gardens, the cemetery was constructed and maintained by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.

A total of 826 soldiers who fell in the advance of the Japanese in the "Campaign in Malaya" from December 1941 to February 1942 were buried at the cemetery.

Also present were Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil, who is minister-in-attendance, New Zealand High Commisioner to Malaysia Geoff Randal and Larut, Matang and Selama District Officer Mahmod Morsidi.

Cartwright, who is New Zealand's 18th Governor-General, arrived in Kuala Lumpur for a five-day visit to Malaysia on Monday.
